The Food Pantry at Resurrection Catholic Missions is asking for grocery bags. We fill them with nutritious food for the families that seek help from us. Pictured is an example of the wonderful produce that we get from the Heart of Alabama Food Bank. We also get first class meat such as pork loins, ground beef, pollock, shrimp, salmon, pulled pork, whole chickens and so much more.

In April 2024 we served 150 individuals; 24 were families with children under the age of 18 and 22 were seniors over the age of 60. Just last week a pregnant mother came by with her little boy to get some food. Her boy was so hungry that he went into our break room and started helping himself to some food that he saw on the table. It was heartbreaking but it underscores why we do what we do. It also reminded us that we are placed here to help our neighbors and, in order to do that we need some items to be in stock.

Thank you to the generous people who have supplied bags from Amazon and other places. We also gratefully accept used grocery bags and reusable bags that may be cluttering up your home. If you purchase on Amazon, we really like the checkered bags shown in the photos. They hold a lot, and the handles are very sturdy.
