The 2019 Resurrection Collegiate Volunteer Program continues, and we are pleased this week to welcome our fourth and fifth groups of students from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

The St. John’s University group includes staff leader Dr. Krista Stevens, student leaders Angela Aviquivil and Ellie Durkin and participants Grace Blanchard, Mandy Cheravitch, Michael Flynn, Dan Fotoples, Morgan Might, Davonta Milbry, Gabriella Phillips, Diamond Page, Delainey Sumrow, Clare Tirpak, Maria Tirpak, and Maya Williams.

During their time here at Resurrection, the students from John Carroll University are performing service work across our campus in the school, parish, and administrative center – including working with local seniors through our Interfaith Community Outreach (ICO) program. In their free time, the students will also have the opportunity to discover more of Montgomery’s rich cultural and civil rights history through visits to nearby Birmingham and the EJI Legacy Museum and the Memorial for Peace & Justice.

The students were able to hear firsthand accounts of Montgomery’s civil and human rights at a memorable dinner Tuesday night where they were joined by the students of Georgetown University.

The Georgetown University group includes Saham Ali, Alexzander Ballard, Matthew Floyd, Evie Gentile, Lucia Llado, Morgan Peterson, Rebecca Richard, Renae Salunga, Paulina Song, and Eileen Yee.

As #RCVP2019 continues and we continue to welcome more and more students to the Resurrection Collegiate Volunteer Program family, we are blessed to continue our formation work and to share the spirit of these service-focused students with the larger Montgomery community.
