The students of Resurrection Catholic School may have their minds set on summer, but the staff and administrators are already focused on enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year.

With a number of neighboring public schools soon closing, Principal Milner wants to ensure that Resurrection Catholic School is ready to meet the needs of new and returning students this fall.

“The staff of Resurrection are excited for the upcoming school year,” Milner said. “We’re excited about our social media outlets, our evolving S.T.E.A.M. program, and the continued growth of enrollment. We look forward to the 2018-19 school year being one of continued success.”

Well aware of the impending school closures affecting a large number of students who live on Montgomery’s north and west sides, Milner and staff hope to welcome the affected families and students with open arms.

“Resurrection has a rich history and expectation of providing a quality of education for the city of Montgomery and it’s surrounding areas,” he said. “We invite those affected by these closings to come and be apart of our standard of excellence provided for the city of Montgomery for the last 75 years.”

Resurrection Catholic School – which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year – is accepting applications for admission to grades Pre-K through 8th, and is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association. The school is an educational ministry of Resurrection Catholic Mission of the South Inc. and is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Last month, secured a partnership with the state’s Child Nutrition Program – offering each student a snack and dinner meal through Alabama’s free Supper and Snack Program.

“In our 75th year of service to the young people of the greater Montgomery area, we remain utterly committed to providing the best academic and character formation we can,” Mission Director Father Manuel Williams added. “Resurrection Catholic School has continually provided an alternative choice for the excellent education of youngsters from the days of racial segregation through whatever periods of challenge and growth our public school systems have and are encountering.”
