What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No not just for some but for everyone.
– Jackie DeShannon
Dear Friend of Resurrection:
Some of us might remember when Jackie DeShannon’s song was frequently played across our country’s airwaves. But even if you don’t, surely her lyrics still ring true. It seems like now, more than ever, the world could use a strong dose of love.
Each February, we spend countless hours and dollars on material expressions of our love and affection for one another – hardly realizing that the love we truly need to gift costs nothing. By focusing more on gifting caring words, acts of kindness, compassionate support, and thoughtful gestures to those truly in need, we could work to counteract the abundance of hateful words and deeds which characterize so much of our country’s public discourse.
Resurrection Catholic Missions of the South, Inc. strives daily, through all our programs to bring the love of God to many who are most in need of hearing and feeling that love. This day, and all days, remember to give love freely and abundantly.
